Gourds are a funky, colorful decoration for fall. Throw them in all their warty goodness into a fancy pedestal bowl for instant color, and a perfect table centerpiece.
Put a one or two on a surface, along with some pumpkins and squash, to brighten up any corner. The little green striped one on the bottom left is our very own (and only, alas) garden gourd!
Here's a display I fell in love with over at the Herbfarm in Woodinville last weekend. I love how they used a terra cotta pot to hold a few.
And is that, in the middle, a delicata squash?! Mmmm. (No, of course I didn't take it!) (Okay, fine, it crossed my mind for a fleeting second...)
Good gourd. I love October.
